300 Litre Split System – Solar Water Heater

With the split system the tank is separate to the collector (the tubes) and is usually sited in the house (much like a traditional electric immersion heater). This is also means that the system can be considered more aesthetically pleasing because the tank can be placed out of sight and only the collector is visible on the roof. Because the system is split it also has a pump, digital controller and expansion vessel as well as an electric back up heater. The pump cycles the fluid through the solar collectors and back through the coil in the tank which then transfers the heat into the stored water in the tank.

Collector panels are the same in design as the integrated systems the key difference is that the tank is separated from the panels and in its place is a manifold unit which can be connected in series for additional heat potential. Our standard tank is a single coil system with immersion back up.
The key benefit with split systems is the amount of control available as well as the ability to upsize systems for larger sites. Split systems run with a temperature switch that is controlled by a central digital controller, so you can set you temperature and the rest is automatic.
We use the latest design of evacuated tubes rather than the older design of flat panels. With this system the tubes (which are made of toughened borosilicate glass) contain a copper rod , and the tube itself forms a vacuum. The tube is coated in a special layer that maximises the suns energy and concentrates the heat , this in turn travels up to the tank and transfers the heat to the water or liquid. This system is the most efficient system available and will provide hot water even on cloudy days in the middle of winter.
This size of system is suitable for the typical hot water needs of a family of two adults and two children. The other tank sizes we offer are the 150 Litre and 500 Litre systems.
